About:

I’m Matt Simkin and what I like to do is to help organisations through times of change.  I’m a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and, even more importantly, an experienced business manager.

Working in HR, we often hear that “people are our most important asset” but how often do we really see that put into action?  I passionately believe that the most important part of any organisation is its people and that they are the key to making a business work.

However, I also believe that good intentions alone are not enough and that with any change process, be it a merger, restructure, moving office, laying people off, supporting your top flyers, increasing team performance, bringing in a new system or process or developing your people, it is vital to take account of the likely impact of change on your people.

Unlike many change management and HR consultants, I’m not driven by process nor am I peddling a one-size-fits-all model that I’ll implement and then walk away.  I work by gaining a clear understanding of both your business and your needs so that I can design and implement processes and systems that work in practice and that will keep on working long after I’ve gone.

My methodology is simple: I work with you to think through the issues, create the right solutions, and make sure that – together – we do the right thing for your people.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Don’t just take our word for it!

Look at what some of our satisfied customers have had to say about the services they have received from Matt Simkin. You will not be disappointed.

Matt was engaged by our charity at the biggest strategic development in our 40-year history. I would commend Matt for his understanding and his attention to our needs, his careful and collaborative development of the work required and then the delivery of a sound and focused product.  It was a significant contribution to prepare us for the task ahead.

Chief Executive, Charity

Matt’s logical mind combined with his high emotional intelligence led to the creation of a competency framework that was agreed by management and trades unions alike.

HR Director, National Museum

Matt helped me shape and implement organisational change at FPI. Matt developed and implemented a new pay and grading system which was based on a tailor-made job evaluation system which he also designed and implemented. He delivered complex change without creating disruption or ‘organisational noise’

Chief Executive, National Charity

Matt quickly understood what we were looking for during a period of organisational change.  He proposed and developed a solution that was cost effective which he then successfully delivered in a timely manner.  He’s a pleasure to work with.
